The Role

We’re looking for a Full Stack Engineer with solid Ruby on Rails experience who enjoys building reliable products, improving developer experience and working on meaningful technology that protects user privacy and digital sovereignty.

You will join a small, experienced and highly collaborative team working on our customer-facing platform. You will help build and maintain features across our product ecosystem, while contributing to scalable and maintainable solutions together with experienced engineers.

This is a role for someone who enjoys ownership and likes contributing beyond implementation alone. You’ll have plenty of room to contribute ideas, take ownership and continue growing as an engineer.

What you’ll be doing

• Building and improving features across our Ruby on Rails platform

• Working on scalable and maintainable backend and frontend solutions

• Contributing to architecture and technical decision-making

• Collaborating closely with product, design and fellow engineers

• Improving performance, reliability and developer experience

• Participating in code reviews and knowledge sharing within the team

• Exploring thoughtful ways to use AI tools to improve workflows, experimentation and code quality

• Helping us continuously improve our platform and the way we work together as a team

Our stack

Our platform is built with modern technologies including:

• Ruby on Rails 6

• Turbo & Stimulus

• PostgreSQL

• Redis

• TailwindCSS

• HTML / Slim templating

• Modern JavaScript

Experience with email-related technologies such as Dovecot, Postfix, Rspamd or Sieve is a plus, but not required.

Who you are

You are an experienced engineer who enjoys building products with care and attention to quality. You combine technical depth with a pragmatic mindset and enjoy working closely with others to solve problems and improve systems.

You take ownership, communicate clearly and feel comfortable working in a collaborative environment where people help each other grow. You are curious by nature, enjoy learning new things and stay up to date with developments in the field.

You have experience building production applications with Ruby on Rails and enjoy taking ownership from idea to implementation.

You currently live in the Netherlands and are able to join us at the office in Amsterdam at least three days a week.
